Survey report editor & templates — Word-like editing, side-by-side reports

Edit spot, preliminary, final, reinspection and summary reports with the HOME, INSERT, VIEW, DESIGN and PHOTOS tabs you already know from Word. The report fills in from the survey, prints as A4 exactly as it looks on screen, and downloads as a PDF or Word file.

Five tabs, no learning curve

If you have typed a survey report in Word, you already know where things are.

TabWhat you get
HOMEParagraph style, font, size, bold, italic, underline, strike-through, subscript and superscript, text case, font colour and highlight
INSERTTable, horizontal line, link, symbol, today's date, date and time, and a page break that takes effect when printing
VIEWFind & Replace (Ctrl+H), the photos and documents viewer, page-break preview, the exact A4 page on a phone, print, PDF and side-by-side reports
DESIGNReport colour theme, font, text size, heading style, page border and margins, plus Set as my default and Reset
PHOTOSPhotos per row (1–4) and photo height, for one photo section or all of them
Change once

Change a detail once, and every report of the survey updates

Reports open auto-filled from the survey: insurance particulars, policy and claim numbers, vehicle and RC details, and anything you applied from the RC, DL and policy OCR. If you change a shared detail, such as the insured's name or the policy number, in any one report, the survey's other reports pick it up: spot, final, reinspection, summary and fee bill. An empty field never wipes a value that another report already filled.

The design works the same way. Pick a colour theme, heading style and border for a report, then press Set as my default, and your new reports open with that look.

  • Reference viewer — survey photos and documents sit beside the report, with zoom, rotate, edit, assign and OCR.
  • Print-accurate pages — A4 pages with real page breaks. Zoom only changes the screen, and printing and PDF are always at 100%.
  • PDF & Word — download a PDF, print on your letterhead, or export a Word file when an insurer wants an editable copy.

Final report and bill, open together

The report workspace opens a survey's reports next to each other, so you can check figures without switching windows.

Choose Tabs, Split 2, 3 cols or Grid 4, and switch on Sync scroll to move through two reports together. Add another report to the workspace at any time. Each pane keeps its own ribbon and Save, and Save all saves every open report at once. It is useful for matching the final assessment with the fee bill, or the final report with the reinspection report.

Template builder

Your letters and formats, filled from the survey

Build cover letters, fee bill covers, reminder letters, approval requests or your own preliminary report format once, then reuse them on every survey. Insert field has a search box and adds merge fields such as {{claim_number}}, the place of loss, the driver's licence number or the workshop address.

In the preview, each field shows the survey's value. Fields with no data yet are flagged in red, and the status bar counts them, so nothing goes out with a blank. The INSERT tab also adds text areas, heading bars, key–value rows, photos and a signature block. When the letter is ready, Save to Survey or Print / PDF.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Microsoft Word to use the report editor?

No. The editor runs in your browser on a computer or phone. If an insurer asks for an editable copy, you can also export the report as a Word file.

Can I use my own report format?

Yes. Use the template builder to create your own preliminary report, letters and other formats with merge fields, and reuse them on every survey.

Will the PDF look the same as the screen?

Yes. Reports are laid out as A4 pages with real page breaks. Zoom changes only the screen, and printing and PDF always use 100%.

If I change the insured's name in one report, do the others update?

Yes. Shared details such as the insured's name, policy number and vehicle details are kept in step across the spot, final, reinspection and summary reports and the fee bill of the same survey.

Can I apply one design to all my reports?

Yes. Set the colour theme, font, heading style, border and margins in the DESIGN tab and press Set as my default, and new reports open with that design. Reset goes back to the standard look.

Can I compare two reports side by side?

Yes. The report workspace shows a survey's reports as tabs, split, three columns or a grid of four, with sync scroll and Save all.
