A pre-inspection in four steps
Open the PI case
Create the survey with the type Pre-Inspection (PI) and the vehicle, insured and insurer details you received with the request.
Link or visit
Send a self-inspection link with the Pre-inspection (PI) preset on WhatsApp, inspect over live video, or shoot the vehicle yourself on site.
Guided angles
Each PI angle has a hint in English and Hindi. Location must be on, and every photo carries the date, time and GPS position.
Checklist, declaration, report
Mark each part, add your QC remarks and recommendation, take the owner's signed declaration and download the PI report PDF.
The standard break-in angles, in the order insurers expect
The Pre-inspection preset asks the owner for these items. You can untick any that do not apply, and the report prints the photos in the same order.
- Corners and sides — front right, front left, back left and back right corners, and the full left and right sides.
- Identity — engine with the registration plate, the embossed chassis number and the RPM / odometer reading.
- Underbody and boot — the vehicle base from the front and the open dickey or CNG kit.
- Glass — windshield from inside (right and left) and from outside, and the sunroof if fitted.
- Documents — RC front and back, and the previous policy if the owner has it.

A pre-inspection report on your letterhead
- Case and vehicle details — insurer, branch and code, insured, proposer or dealer, requested, inspection and completion times, inspection mode, registration, make, model, variant, year, colour, fuel, odometer, chassis and engine numbers.
- Parts checklist — a list for cars, two-wheelers, three-wheelers or commercial vehicles; each part Intact, Scratch, Dent, Crack, Broken, Missing or Not applicable, with damaged parts highlighted and counted.
- Recommendation — Recommended, Recommended subject to a condition you type, Not recommended or Referred to insurer, with QC remarks.
- Declaration — the owner's break-in declaration in English and Hindi, with their signature, name, time and location.
- Images — document and vehicle images two to a row, each captioned with the part, date, time and GPS position, plus marked images and video links.

You inspect and recommend. DigiSurvey keeps the evidence straight.
Each insurer has its own break-in rules: which vehicles may be inspected through a link, which need a physical or live video inspection, and which damages must be excluded. Follow those rules. DigiSurvey does not decide acceptance and does not send anything to the insurer on its own; you review the photos and issue the report.
Every link photo is taken inside the page with location on and stamped like your own GPS photo stamp camera, so the date, time and position in the report come from the capture itself. RC details can be read with the RC OCR scanner and checked before they fill the report.
Unlimited links
PI links are self-inspection links, so they are included in your plan with no per-link charge.
Signed declaration
The owner signs on the phone at the end of the link, or on your screen with the signature pad in the report.
Print-ready PDF
A4 pages with your name, the reference and vehicle number, and “Page n of N” in the footer.
Frequently asked questions
What is a vehicle pre-inspection (PI)?
When a motor policy has lapsed and there is a break in cover, insurers usually ask for the vehicle to be inspected before a new policy is issued. The inspection records the vehicle's identity and its existing damage, and the report says whether the vehicle is recommended for insurance.
Can the owner do the pre-inspection through a link?
Yes, where the insurer accepts self-inspection. Send a self-inspection link with the Pre-inspection (PI) preset on WhatsApp. The owner takes the standard angles in the phone's browser with location on, uploads the RC and signs the declaration. You review everything before issuing the report.
Which photos does the PI checklist ask for?
Front right corner, engine with the registration plate, the vehicle base from the front, the embossed chassis number, front left corner, left side, back left corner, open dickey or CNG kit, back right corner, right side, RPM and odometer, the windshield from inside (right and left) and outside, and the sunroof if fitted, plus RC front and back and the previous policy if available.
Who decides whether the vehicle is recommended?
You do. DigiSurvey records the evidence and lays out the report; you mark each part's condition and choose Recommended, Recommended subject to a condition, Not recommended or Referred to insurer, following the insurer's break-in guidelines.
Is the PI report on my own letterhead?
Yes. The report uses your name, qualification, licence number, address, logo, stamp and signature from your profile, and prints on A4 with your name, the reference and the vehicle number and page numbers in the footer.
Is there a charge per PI link?
No. Self-inspection and live video links are unlimited and included in your DigiSurvey plan.
