Engineering insurance survey — CAR/EAR & machinery breakdown, site-stamped.

Survey contractors' all-risk, erection, machinery-breakdown, boiler and electronic-equipment losses with the evidence on record from the first site visit. Every photo is GPS- and time-stamped, makes and serial numbers are captured as you go, and out comes an engineering loss report on your own letterhead.

Why it works for engineering claims

Put the plant and the site on record, the day you inspect

CAR/EAR and machinery-breakdown claims turn on what the site and the machine actually looked like on the loss date. DigiSurvey records that — identity, condition, make and serial — in one dated, verifiable file.

Condition on record

The plant, machine or works are captured and dated at the site visit — a clear baseline for the loss, before anything is cleared or repaired.

Make, model & serial

Capture the maker's plate, model and serial number of each affected machine so the report identifies exactly what was damaged.

GPS + time on every photo

Each site photo carries its location, date and time from the capture itself — proof the evidence was taken at the site, on the day.

Stage-wise evidence

For erection and project works, record the loss stage by stage — excavation, civil, erection, testing — in the order an engineer reads it.

Assembly checklist

Mark each assembly or component Intact, Damaged, Missing or Not applicable, with damaged items highlighted and counted.

Clean loss report

A print-ready engineering loss report on your letterhead — cause, extent, affected plant and captioned photos in one place.

On-site evidence

What you capture on an engineering loss

From the erection site to the failed machine — every photo GPS- and time-stamped, with make and serial read from the plate.

How it works

An engineering survey in four steps

  1. Open the claim

Start an engineering case with the insurer, insured, policy (CAR/EAR/MBD) and the plant or works affected.

  2. Capture on site

Walk the site and capture each affected machine, assembly and area — every photo GPS- and time-stamped, serials and plates read in.

  3. Mark the checklist

Mark each assembly or component's condition and note the apparent cause and extent of loss.

  4. Report on your letterhead

The engineering loss report is ready on your letterhead — details, cause, extent, checklist and captioned evidence.

Checklist & report

The evidence a claim needs, and what goes in the report

The engineering preset prompts for these items on site, and prints them into the report in the same order.

On-site checklist

  • Plant & machinery identity — maker's plate, model and serial of each affected unit, with capacity / rating.
  • Site & stage — overall site, the affected area and the stage of works (civil, erection, testing, commissioning).
  • Damage & extent — close shots of the damage, the affected assemblies and any collapsed, burnt or flooded portion.
  • Cause & surroundings — the apparent cause, adjacent property and site conditions where relevant.
  • Salvage & documents — salvage held, plus the policy, bills, make/serial documents and any load or test records.

In the engineering loss report

  • Case & policy details — insurer, insured, policy type (CAR/EAR/MBD/EEI/boiler), period, site and dates.
  • Plant schedule — each affected machine with make, model, serial, rating and location.
  • Assembly checklist — each item Intact, Damaged, Missing or N/A, highlighted and counted.
  • Cause & extent of loss — how the loss occurred and the extent of damage, with QC remarks.
  • Captioned site evidence — photos two to a row, each with date, time and GPS, plus marked images and video links.
You assess; DigiSurvey keeps the evidence straight. Engineering losses are assessed under the policy and the surveyor's own judgement — DigiSurvey records the site evidence and produces the report, and does not decide liability or quantum on its own. We'll build any engineering report format your insurer asks for on request.
Why teams pick it

Simple enough for anyone to run — and it goes out as yours

Nothing to install, very little to type. The app does the writing and the report carries your firm's name — not ours.

Your logo & letterhead

Every report carries your firm's name, logo and licence number. It goes to the insurer as your document — DigiSurvey's name isn't on it.

No app to install

Runs in any phone browser — nothing to download or update. Open the link and start capturing.

Report in minutes

Capture, check the values and the report fills itself on your letterhead — ready in minutes, not days.

GPS + time on every photo

Each photo is stamped with its location, date and time from the capture itself — not added afterwards.

Hindi, many languages & voice

Fill the report by speaking instead of typing, in the language you pick.

Anyone can run it

Guided screens, big buttons, ready presets and voice input — very little typing, so any team member can complete a survey.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What engineering claims can I survey with DigiSurvey?

Contractors' all-risk (CAR), erection all-risk (EAR), machinery breakdown (MBD), boiler and pressure-plant, and electronic-equipment insurance (EEI) losses. The same workspace captures the site, the affected plant and the documents, and produces an engineering loss report on your letterhead.

Can I capture the make, model and serial of each machine?

Yes. Photograph the maker's plate and the details read into the report, or type / dictate them. Each affected machine appears in the plant schedule with its make, model, serial and rating.

Does every site photo get a GPS and time stamp?

Yes. Every photo carries its location, date and time from the capture itself — not added later. The finished report also carries a QR code anyone can scan to confirm it is genuine.

Can I record the loss stage by stage for erection works?

Yes. You can capture and group evidence by stage — civil, erection, testing, commissioning — and by area, so the report reads the way an engineer assesses the loss.

Is the engineering report on my own letterhead?

Yes. Every report carries your firm's name, logo and licence number and goes to the insurer as your document. We'll build any report format your insurer asks for.

Does DigiSurvey decide liability or the amount?

No. Engineering losses are assessed by the surveyor under the policy terms and their own judgement. DigiSurvey records the evidence and produces the report; it does not decide liability or quantum on its own.
